Catherall Consulting was established by Mark Catherall in 2012 to provide education and consulting services in modelling, simulation, and optimization.

Mark graduated from the University of Oxford in 2007 in the degree of Master of Engineering (first class) having completed internships with QinetiQ and P2i. He joined McLaren Racing Ltd. in June 2008 as a vehicle dynamics engineer, working in modelling, simulation development, tool development, and competitor analysis. In October 2010 Mark left McLaren and returned to Oxford to study for a DPhil (PhD) in biomedical engineering, specifically, modelling the effect of nitric oxide on the regulation of blood-flow in the brain. Since then Mark has undertaken consultancy projects for Scuderia Ferrari and Scuderia Toro Rosso, in simulation development and strategy, and has run Ferrari's Oxford office and acted as liaison between Ferrari and various research groups in the engineering department of the university.
